These towns were built by Black people, for Black people — and many of them are still thriving today. But chances are, you've never heard of places like Allensworth, Mound Bayou, or Boley. And that’s not by accident. This is the kind of Black history that is not taught in schools — not because it isn’t powerful, but because it proves we’ve always had the ability to build, lead, and succeed. These are the towns that show Black excellence in its purest form: self-made, self-sustained, and still st
